Archant’s Pure Weddings 2015/16 has hit the shelves and as well as my feature on cake painting (check it out here) I’m pleased to have also written one of their real wedding feature on Claire and Richard Down of Upton Barn. The couple converted their barn and walled garden, a renovation which took two years, so that they could marry at home and have since had it licensed – it’s now one of the most beautiful and exclusive venues in the South West. I do love a good wedding story!
The June Issue of One Magazine, the South West regional lifestyle magazine which I edit is out now. I thought I’d share a piece I wrote on Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, which I simply can’t recommend highly enough.
I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed for more good weather this month – we all need a good ‘ol dose of vitamin D here at 247 Towers – we all look better with a tan. Plus, we’d really like a reason to treat ourselves to some of the delectable beach essentials and maybe even some of the awesome new swimmers in this month fashion shoot.
We have loads of great interviews for you in this issue: read what our cover star, Bastille, had to say before they headline Oceanfest this month and we find out what inspires the personal lyrics of solo sensation Josh Curnow. This month at 247 towers, we’ve been refusing to participate in premature Christmas activities and besides we’ve been far too busy getting to know up-and-coming South West bands, Melosa and The Rise. We also interview the endearing Josh T Pearson and the Iration Steppas, as well as Faltown founder and all round brilliant skateboarder, Alex Brinnen. Add into the mix our opinion of the regions best Mexican restaurants, graffiti inspired fashion shot and all the listings of the best events taking place this month and I hope you’ll agree it’s a killer issue.
