Hello, pleased to meet you!

I’m Rachael, a UK-based content creative. I work as a freelance journalist, editor, copywriter and marketeer.

I have a BA Hons Journalism degree from University College Falmouth and an NCTJ PTC Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism from Harlow College. I also hold a Licentiateship Distinction from The Royal Photographic Society. However, I consider my most important qualification to be my 17 years experience in print, online publishing and content marketing. I’ve enjoyed launching magazines and websites, implementing redesigns and pushing publications through to market-leading status.

My career started at Future Plc, where I worked my way up to editor level – my last position saw me launch Digital Camera World, before leaving to pursue a freelance career. That was eleven years ago now and I’m pleased to say I’ve been very busy since.

I’ve worked with every major UK publishing house on some of the world’s best-loved websites and magazines and for major agencies including Time Inc. and John Brown Media. I’ve been hired to redesign and launch magazines and websites, had a book published and worked as a guest lecturer across journalism and photography degree courses at Marjon. I’ve written more articles, features and blogs than I ever thought possible and I’ve taken photographs to illustrate lots of them too.

The other string to my bow is providing a media and marketing service for businesses – I find helping a client grow their business hugely rewarding. From press releases and generating editorial coverage, through to social media strategy, SEO and blogging, I’m focused on getting the message to the right audience. Businesses I’ve worked with in this capacity range from a private clinic and an independent jewellery shop chain to Best Western Hotels and Jessops.
