Magical Toadstool Makes for LandLove Magazine

Who doesn’t love stumbling upon mushrooms on a woodland walk? In this six-page craft feature, for the September issue of LandLove magazine, I use the fabulous fungi as inspiration for colour crafts.

Field to Fashion

It’s no secret that I love animals and have a particular fondness for alpaca, so I was happy to receive a commission to head to Exmoor to meet one of the leaders in the field to fabric movement, and some very cute camelids too!

Lead Holder Tutorial for Dogs Monthly Magazine

My latest craft tutorial for Dog’s Monthly magazine sees me turn a plain chopping board into a kitsch lead holder. If you’re a dog owner why not make one? Guaranteed to get tails wagging!

New Series in Dogs Monthly

I’m happy to be working with Dogs Monthly magazine again, providing them with a monthly DIY tutorial. Dogs and crafting – what’s not to like! Here’s my first project, how to create pop art inspired bowls – sure to brighten any feeding area.

Interview with award-winning editorial and publicity photographer Al Overdrive

“Even from my very early days, the feedback I got was that my work felt close, not voyeuristic or sterile.”

Al Overdrive is best known for making images which reflect his cinematic approach to fashion and portraiture. His work emanates an air of relaxed honesty, capturing a moment of calm which is both empathetic and revealing. Heavily influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi (perhaps in opposition to his previous career in forensic photography) he is able to reflect the personality of the people and of clothing he shoots in a way which feels natural. Unlike most photography which emphasises distance, his work embraces proximity rending the camera almost invisible. Read my interview with Al, published on the Autographer blog here.

Organic Ale feature published in Devon Life magazine

I’m happy to have my feature ‘Brewing A Storm’ on The Exeter Brewery published in this month’s Devon Life magazine. It was an interesting piece to write and photograph   – I discovered that The Exeter Brewery’s organic real ale is so popular it’s exported to France via sail boat and rebranded for the Army!

Walking a Llama across Dartmoor

This summer I’ve enjoyed being commissioned to write and photograph several walks in Devon. My dog, Poppy, has enjoyed all of them immensely, other than this one, which saw me walk a Llama across Dartmoor. One ticked off my quirky bucket list for sure!

Inspired Bride – Issue 2

Issue 2 of Inspired Bride hits the shops today. I had butterflies in my stomach when we sent Issue 1 of Inspired Bride to the printers last month and when I first saw it on the shelves of WH Smith!  I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by all the positivity surrounding Issue 1 – thank you to everyone who bought the first issue and all of you who took the time to reach out and tell me how much you loved it!

Here are some sample spreads:
