Over the last year I’ve been working with Millpond Children’s Sleep Clinic, managing their press, PR and marketing, It’s been a busy and successful year for the clinic, so I thought I’d share details of our biggest collaboration to date: teaming up with super popular children’s TV show In the Night Garden to help children sleep better. You can read all about what we’ve been up to over at the Millpond blog and below is our Night Garden Bedtime chat with top tips from Millpond founder, Mandy Gurney, with In the Night Garden clips.
I’ve just completed my first month at University College Marjon, Plymouth, where I’ve been a part-time guest lecturer, across their Media and Journalism courses. It’s been a steep learning curve – getting to grips with academia again, public speaking and changing my mind set from media creator to media teacher, but I’ve certainly enjoyed the challenge and the added variety to my working week. The seminar I’m taking this week is on review writing and next week’s lecture is on travel writing, then I’m moving on to teach some basic photography and image editing skills. I hope to be asked back next term too.
In the Sunday Times University Guide, UCP Marjon ranked 4th for Teaching Excellence (ahead of Oxford University) and are ranked 3rd overall amongst university colleges. Ofsted have rated their Primary Teacher Training as ‘Outstanding’. The university college offer a great range of courses from Foundation Degrees & Progression Courses to Honours Degrees and Postgraduate study. UCP Marjon has built a reputation for being ‘small and friendly’. With around 3500 students, the class sizes are small, which means tutors and fellow students get to know each other, but the institution is large enough to provide excellent facilities and social activities.
