An illustrated Life

It’s always lovely to interview a fellow working mother and especially so in the case of illustrator, Anna Platts. My feature, published in the November issue of Exeter Life delves into Anna’s impressive creative business, which she juggles with a young family. Click on the pages above to read.

PR & mARKETING FOR easy tiger!

I’ve recently been working with OPEN MINDS UK, an early intervention service that supports the emotional wellbeing and development of young people, helping to promote their new family activity book, Easy Tiger!

Easy Tiger! is a fun activity book for children, which helps them become more aware of their feelings and learn strategies to calm down and develop their own tools for managing tricky times.

Using the OPEN MINDS UK approach, Easy Tiger! uses mindfulness and positive psychology to help build stronger pathways in the brain, helping children to manage big feelings, which in turn develops their self-confidence and resilience – it’s a great book. Check it out here.

Global tech news

I’ve started a regular global technology news writing slot for Future Publishing. The the last two months, I’ve been providing news and insight for 5Gradar.

5G is a ground-breaking technology that is enabling innovative applications across a breadth of sectors from agriculture to security – there’s so much to report on, I’m really enjoying it.

I’m currently averaging two stories a day for 5Gradar, so I certainly won’t post them all here, but here are a few examples:

Finland’s Elisa demos remote-controlled 5G tractors – and more – at its new lab – read it here.

5G robots are battling the coronavirus in China – read it here.

Trump tries to curry favour with India over 5G – read it here.

Mother’s marathon effort

In this month’s Exeter Life magazine I have an interview published with fellow Exeter mum, Emma Royle. Emma opens up to me about the horror of discovering her baby had cancer and how she’s running the London Marathon to raise funds for CLIC Sargent. It’s one of the most touching interviews I’ve done for a while – Emma is an inspiration in truest sense of the word and I hope the piece works to generate extra vital funds for CLIC Sargent, who help families when they need it most.

One Mile Bakery

At the end of last year, I was lucky enough to spend a morning at Boudicca Woodland’s micro bakery, One Mile Bakery Exeter, where I discovered the most personable loaf imaginable. This was a commissioned piece for Exeter Life magazine, which you can read here.

WARNING: You’ll want focaccia bread!
