Last month’s £5,000 festival ticket giveaway was a hard act to follow, but 247 magazine readers are in for a treat this month too. We teamed up with South West hip hop duo Carpetface & Audible1 to offer every reader a free download card for their new album. Other than Carpetface & Audible1, interviewed in this month’s mag is the hotly-tipped Ben Howard, DJ Tom Costelloe and DJ Kelly J. This month also sees the launch a brand new food section where this month, we recommend our top spots for Al Fresco dining. Street Art is all about Upfest, out favourite live painting festival which takes place in Bristol at the beginning of June. On top of this you’ve got the usual fashion spread, Style Hunter shoot, Culture & Film, Live & Club listings. So grab a copy and head out to the park and enjoy the sunshine why don’t ya!

The New Wave of Wedding Photography – feature in Turning Pro Magazine

There’s been a shift in wedding photography recently, which sees photographers experimenting with composition, moving away from formal wedding shots to let their images tell a different story. For this feature, published in Turning Pro magazine, I spoke to four wedding photographers; Allister Freeman, Simon Gilbert, Helen Evans and Mark Carey, who are embracing this new style, taking their influences from contemporary art photography and reportage to see wedding photography in a new light.

A sniff of sunshine and we’ve gone festival mad this month. Our Ultimate Festival Guide equips you with info about the festival best offerings in the region and beyond, but we haven’t stopped there, we’ve secured a pair of tickets for almost all of our featured festivals to give away. Master Manipulation feature published in April’s Photography Monthly magazine

When used correctly, photo manipulation can bring images to life. From the slightest change in colour to the creation of new worlds, editing software will set your imagination free. In this feature for Photography Monthly I spoke to three masters: Peter Verver, Andrew Brooks and Luis Beltrán, who revealed the secrets behind getting it right.

Panasonic Lumix FT3 review published on T3.com

I spent some of last week out in the Spring sunshine putting Panasonic’s new super tough Lumix FT3 camera through it’s paces at the beach. The 12.1 MP compact has a feature-set which should really appeal to adrenalin junkies and extreme sports types – it’s dustproof, waterproof to 12 meters, shockproof to 2 meters and freezproof to -10 degrees. There’s also full HD Movie recording and a great GPS function. Does it take good pictures though? Click here to read my review and find out…

I love doing interviews and was recently lucky enough to chat to professional architecture photographer, Kristopher Grunert, for Photography Monthly magazine. I talk to Kristopher about how he uses lines, light, atmosphere, movement and mystery to create stunning architectural images and get him to reveal his top tips for shooting the man-made. 247 Magazine: March issue out now!

 

 

The March issue of 247, the award-winning free monthly music and lifestyle magazine which I edit is out now – free in bars, pubs, clubs and cool shops throughout the South West of England.

As ever, putting together this month’s issue of 247 has been a real pleasure and a whirl of activity. From interviewing the legendary DJ Eddie Halliwell, who is making a are appearance in the South West this month to directing a gaggle of contenders from our Student Model Search competition on this month’s fashion shoot there hasn’t been a dull moment! Interviews this month include rap and dance star Example and stand-up comedian Tom Deacon.
