Day trip, long weekend or beach holiday – we all love a trip to the coast. The British Isles are fringed by over 9,000 miles of coastline ready to be explored and we’ve got it all – from Dorset’s beautiful Jurassic coast and Cornwall’s surfing beaches, to cosmopolitan seaside cities such as Brighton and giant playgrounds such as Blackpool. The trick is knowing which is the best beach for you and your family or friends. Don’t want to travel too far for a single day? Want to take the dog along with you? Or how about a secluded cove where you’ll only have seagulls for company? In this tutorial I help readers find the best beach for then, using a selection of brilliant websites.

Kevin Mullins is a photographer with vision. He has worked as a full-time wedding photographer since 2009 and has 45 weddings booked for this year. He knew that doing so would mean getting himself a studio – something which has been a long journey to fruition… Published in Archant’s Turning Pro magazine.

Wedding photography cover feature in Turning Pro magazine
A wedding is a special event for all involved, and children are no exception. In fact, when it comes to creating a wedding album packed full of candid and interesting recollections of the day, children often prove the most natural subjects. I spoke to three photographers: Kristian Leven, Georgi Mabee and Robert Lawler, and discovered various techniques to taking candid, natural shots of children at weddings which really capture the essence of the day. This 12-page feature has been published in this month’s (July 2011) Turning Pro magazine.
